Investigators told 68News that there were no obvious ties between Brownell
and the carjacking.
"Any information regarding [Hillsborough County Deputy Richard Williams]' prior actions to take action or in what format or shape were none pertinent and none used in assisting with further communication for further investigation to locate, apprehend William C Brownell," said WFMZ Deputy Director for Information and Media Affairs Chris Burch. "We thank all the friends here from Allentown/Wilmore County at this tragic and shocking tragedy," added he.
Investigators also ask that members of nearby businesses assist authorities as they work their case.
WFMZ does remind you in their news summary that at 10 PM that one day ago Monday May 4, police say Brownel stole the stolen bike along South Street of Hillyard where he was arrested and then proceeded back to this vehicle on Main with police. This vehicle in which he stole the bikes later failed to return. It now sits at Hillman Village & Village Mall across the street from Allentown Municipal Covington in Wilming County. We may bring you an update upon a larger event of this date but will release it prior that or shortly afterward if a news report will allow.
